Las Fiestas de Gràcia 2026 English Guide:
Where to Go, What to See in Gràcia, Barcelona
The Main Festival of Gràcia: 15-21 August, 2026
Fiestas de Gràcia (officially Festa Major de Gràcia) runs Saturday, August 15 through Friday, August 21, 2026, with the opening pregó ceremony on Friday, August 14, at Plaça de la Vila de Gràcia. This year's program includes more than 900 free activities across the neighborhood (see the full program).
For one week, the streets of Gràcia turn into hand-built, hand-decorated art installations, and the whole neighborhood spills outside. We're right on Plaça del Sol, the festival's main stage, so here's our guide to where to go, what to see, and where to cool off along the way.
Plaça del Sol: the heart of the action of Fiesta de Gràcia
Every year since 2005, our own Plaça del Sol transforms into "Plaça del Folk," the festival's main music stage, run by Centre Artesà Tradicionàrius. This year is the 22nd edition, with nightly concerts of folk, rumba, and traditional Catalan music from August 15 through 21.
2026 Concert schedule
-
Saturday, Aug 15: opening concerts, La Cosina (22:00) and Germà Negre (23:30)
-
Sunday, Aug 16: Solc (21:30) and Pepet i Marieta (23:30), plus the Diada Castellera (human towers) at 12:00 in Plaça de la Vila de Gràcia
-
Monday, Aug 17: the festival's "nit tranquil·la," a lower-volume night across the neighborhood
-
Tuesday, Aug 18: Derrumband (22:00), a rumba band celebrating 20 years together
-
Wednesday, Aug 19, 18:00: decorated-street contest results announced at Plaça de la Vila de Gràcia, followed by a concert with Trèvol (23:30)
-
Thursday, Aug 20: folk ball with La Coixinera (23:30)
-
Friday, Aug 21: the festival's closing night at Plaça del Folk, with Koré (21:00) and a traditional gralla dance with Els Quatrevents (23:30)
Since we're directly on the plaza, Plaça del Sol is the easiest place to start (or end) your walk through the festival.
Nearby streets and squares worth the walk
This year, streets and squares across Gràcia are decorated, each with its own theme built entirely by neighbors — and for the first time, five street committees are debuting a shared, unified decoration theme across their streets. A few highlights close to us:
-
Carrer de Verdi, a short walk away, is one of the festival's most consistent decoration-contest favorites
-
Plaça de la Vila de Gràcia hosts the castellers (human towers) and the contest results
-
Plaça d'en Joanic is new this year as a dedicated family space for kids
-
Plaça de la Virreina has an artisan market running throughout the week
-
Jardinets de Gràcia has the traditional funfair
More to see during festival week
-
Gimcana de Festa Major (Friday, Aug 21) — a Gaudí-centenary-themed scavenger hunt for families, starting at Plaça d'en Joanic
-
Correfoc (Friday, Aug 21, 21:30) — the festival's traditional closing fire-run through the streets, ending back at Plaça de la Vila
-
Fira d'Atraccions at Jardinets de Gràcia — running since Aug 7, open until 2am specifically during festival days (Aug 15–21)
Cool off and refuel at Oso Grizzly
Walking the decorated streets in August heat works up an appetite and a thirst. Stop by for:
-
Iced coffee, iced americano, or iced matcha latte to cool down
-
Fresh lemonade
-
Savory focaccia and quick lunch sandwiches between streets
-
Cinnamon rolls, cardamom buns, and other sweets to keep you going
We're located directly on Plaça del Sol, so it's easy to swing by before or after the music.

We'll be open through Sunday, August 16, from 08:30am to 10:00pm, then closed for our summer break. If you're visiting during that first weekend of the festival, come find us.
Frequently Asked Questions
When exactly is Fiestas de Gràcia 2026?
La Fiesta de Gràcia runs Saturday, August 15 through Friday, August 21, 2026, with the opening pregó ceremony the evening before, on Friday, August 14.
Is Fiestas de Gràcia free to attend?
Yes, this year's program includes more than 900 free activities across the neighborhood, including all the concerts at Plaça del Folk, the decorated streets, and most events. A few guided history tours and refuge visits have a small fee (a few euros).
What is Plaça del Folk?
It's the name Plaça del Sol takes on during the festival. Since 2005, it's been the festival's main music stage, hosting nightly concerts of folk, rumba, and traditional Catalan music. It's organized by Centre Artesà Tradicionàrius, and it's exactly where Oso Grizzly is located.
How do I get around Gràcia during the festival?
The Vila de Gràcia becomes a pedestrian zone each night from 21:00 to 5:00 during festival week, with vehicle access restricted. By metro, lines L3, L4, and L5 all serve the area (note: the Gràcia FGC station is out of service between August 11–23). Expect some bus route changes, so check tmb.cat for details closer to your visit.
What's the Correfoc, and is it safe to bring kids?
The Correfoc is a traditional fire-run through the streets with fireworks and costumed "devil" performers. It's a real spectacle, but participants are advised to wear cotton clothing and eye protection if joining in. There's a separate, gentler children's Correfoc earlier in the evening (19:00) before the adult version (21:30) on the festival's final night, Friday, August 21. If you're just watching with kids, keeping a comfortable distance is the easiest way to enjoy it safely.
Where can I cool off during the festival?
August in Barcelona runs hot, and the festival itself recommends staying hydrated and seeking shade. Beyond the city's public water fountains, Oso Grizzly is right on Plaça del Sol with soft drinks, iced coffee, iced matcha, and fresh lemonade.
Is Oso Grizzly open during the festival?
We're open during the first days of the festival, through Sunday, August 16, from 08:30 to 22:00. After that we close for our summer break. If you're visiting during that first festival weekend, come find us right on Plaça del Sol.
